# Morning and Evening Azkar: When and How

The daily azkar are short remembrances tied to particular times, and the timing is part of what they are.

## When should morning and evening azkar be recited?

Morning azkar are recited after Fajr, ideally before sunrise. Evening azkar are recited after Asr, ideally before sunset. Reciting them later than that is still meaningful; the earlier window is the preferred one rather than a strict cut-off.

## Repeat counts

Many azkar specify a number of repetitions — three, seven, ten, thirty-three or a hundred. The count is part of the narration rather than a suggestion, and each supplication on this site shows its own count next to it.

## What the gradings mean

Each supplication carries a grading describing how strongly the narration is established: Quran means the text is from the Quran itself; Sahih means authentic; Hasan means sound; Hasan-Sahih sits between the two; and Daif means weak. Showing the grading lets you see the basis rather than assume it.

## Consistency over quantity

## Common questions

**What if I miss the morning window?**

Recite them when you remember. The preferred time has passed, but the remembrance has not lost its value.

**Do I have to recite them in Arabic?**

**Are the evening azkar different from the morning ones?**

Mostly the same supplications with the wording adjusted for the time of day — 'we have entered upon the morning' becomes 'we have entered upon the evening'.
