أَعُوذُ بِاللَّهِ مِنَ الشَّيْطَانِ الرَّجِيمِ. اللَّهُ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا هُوَ الْحَيُّ الْقَيُّومُ لَا تَأْخُذُهُ سِنَةٌ وَلَا نَوْمٌ لَهُ مَا فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَمَا فِي الْأَرْضِ مَنْ ذَا الَّذِي يَشْفَعُ عِنْدَهُ إِلَّا بِإِذْنِهِ يَعْلَمُ مَا بَيْنَ أَيْدِيهِمْ وَمَا خَلْفَهُمْ وَلَا يُحِيطُونَ بِشَيْءٍ مِنْ عِلْمِهِ إِلَّا بِمَا شَاءَ وَسِعَ كُرْسِيُّهُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضَ وَلَا يَئُودُهُ حِفْظُهُمَا وَهُوَ الْعَلِيُّ الْعَظِيمُ
A'udhu billahi minash-shaytanir-rajim. Allahu la ilaha illa huwal-hayyul-qayyum, la ta'khudhuhu sinatun wa la nawm, lahu ma fis-samawati wa ma fil-ard, man dhal-ladhi yashfa'u 'indahu illa bi-idhnih, ya'lamu ma bayna aydihim wa ma khalfahum, wa la yuhituna bi-shay'in min 'ilmihi illa bima sha', wasi'a kursiyyuhus-samawati wal-ard, wa la ya'uduhu hifzuhuma, wa huwal-'aliyyul-'azim.
I seek refuge in Allah from Satan, the accursed. Allah — there is no deity except Him, the Ever-Living, the Sustainer of existence. Neither drowsiness overtakes Him nor sleep. To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. Who is it that can intercede with Him except by His permission? He knows what is before them and what will be after them, and they encompass nothing of His knowledge except what He wills. His Kursi extends over the heavens and the earth, and their preservation tires Him not. And He is the Most High, the Most Great.

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Say: He is Allah, the One. Allah, the Eternal Refuge. He neither begets nor is born. Nor is there to Him any equivalent.

Bismillahir-rahmanir-rahim. Qul a'udhu bi-rabbil-falaq. Min sharri ma khalaq. Wa min sharri ghasiqin idha waqab. Wa min sharrin-naffathati fil-'uqad. Wa min sharri hasidin idha hasad.
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Say: I seek refuge in the Lord of daybreak, from the evil of that which He created, and from the evil of darkness when it settles, and from the evil of the blowers in knots, and from the evil of an envier when he envies.

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Say: I seek refuge in the Lord of mankind, the Sovereign of mankind, the God of mankind, from the evil of the retreating whisperer who whispers in the breasts of mankind, from among the jinn and mankind.

أَصْبَحْنَا وَأَصْبَحَ الْمُلْكُ لِلَّهِ، وَالْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ، لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ، لَهُ الْمُلْكُ وَلَهُ الْحَمْدُ وَهُوَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ. رَبِّ أَسْأَلُكَ خَيْرَ مَا فِي هَذَا الْيَوْمِ وَخَيْرَ مَا بَعْدَهُ، وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّ مَا فِي هَذَا الْيَوْمِ وَشَرِّ مَا بَعْدَهُ، رَبِّ أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْكَسَلِ وَسُوءِ الْكِبَرِ، رَبِّ أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ عَذَابٍ فِي النَّارِ وَعَذَابٍ فِي الْقَبْرِ
Asbahna wa asbahal-mulku lillah, walhamdu lillah, la ilaha illallahu wahdahu la sharika lah, lahul-mulku wa lahul-hamdu wa huwa 'ala kulli shay'in qadir. Rabbi as'aluka khayra ma fi hadhal-yawmi wa khayra ma ba'dah, wa a'udhu bika min sharri ma fi hadhal-yawmi wa sharri ma ba'dah. Rabbi a'udhu bika minal-kasali wa su'il-kibar. Rabbi a'udhu bika min 'adhabin fin-nari wa 'adhabin fil-qabr.
We have entered the morning and the dominion belongs to Allah; all praise is for Allah. There is no deity but Allah alone, with no partner. To Him belongs the dominion and to Him belongs all praise, and He is over all things competent. My Lord, I ask You for the good of this day and the good of what follows it, and I seek refuge in You from the evil of this day and the evil of what follows it. My Lord, I seek refuge in You from laziness and the misery of old age. My Lord, I seek refuge in You from punishment in the Fire and punishment in the grave.

اللَّهُمَّ بِكَ أَصْبَحْنَا، وَبِكَ أَمْسَيْنَا، وَبِكَ نَحْيَا، وَبِكَ نَمُوتُ، وَإِلَيْكَ النُّشُورُ
Allahumma bika asbahna, wa bika amsayna, wa bika nahya, wa bika namutu, wa ilaykan-nushur.
O Allah, by You we enter the morning and by You we enter the evening, by You we live and by You we die, and to You is the resurrection.

اللَّهُمَّ أَنْتَ رَبِّي لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ، خَلَقْتَنِي وَأَنَا عَبْدُكَ، وَأَنَا عَلَى عَهْدِكَ وَوَعْدِكَ مَا اسْتَطَعْتُ، أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّ مَا صَنَعْتُ، أَبُوءُ لَكَ بِنِعْمَتِكَ عَلَيَّ، وَأَبُوءُ بِذَنْبِي فَاغْفِرْ لِي فَإِنَّهُ لَا يَغْفِرُ الذُّنُوبَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ
Allahumma anta Rabbi la ilaha illa anta, khalaqtani wa ana 'abduka, wa ana 'ala 'ahdika wa wa'dika mastata't, a'udhu bika min sharri ma sana't, abu'u laka bi-ni'matika 'alayya, wa abu'u bi-dhanbi faghfir li fa-innahu la yaghfirudh-dhunuba illa anta.
O Allah, You are my Lord; there is no deity but You. You created me and I am Your servant, and I abide by Your covenant and promise as best I can. I seek refuge in You from the evil of what I have done. I acknowledge Your favour upon me, and I acknowledge my sin, so forgive me — for none forgives sins except You.

اللَّهُمَّ عَافِنِي فِي بَدَنِي، اللَّهُمَّ عَافِنِي فِي سَمْعِي، اللَّهُمَّ عَافِنِي فِي بَصَرِي، لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ. اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْكُفْرِ وَالْفَقْرِ، وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ عَذَابِ الْقَبْرِ، لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ
Allahumma 'afini fi badani, Allahumma 'afini fi sam'i, Allahumma 'afini fi basari, la ilaha illa anta. Allahumma inni a'udhu bika minal-kufri wal-faqr, wa a'udhu bika min 'adhabil-qabr, la ilaha illa anta.
O Allah, grant my body health. O Allah, grant my hearing health. O Allah, grant my sight health. There is no deity but You. O Allah, I seek refuge in You from disbelief and poverty, and I seek refuge in You from the punishment of the grave. There is no deity but You.

حَسْبِيَ اللَّهُ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا هُوَ عَلَيْهِ تَوَكَّلْتُ وَهُوَ رَبُّ الْعَرْشِ الْعَظِيمِ
Hasbiyallahu la ilaha illa huwa, 'alayhi tawakkaltu wa huwa Rabbul-'arshil-'azim.
Allah is sufficient for me; there is no deity but Him. Upon Him I rely, and He is the Lord of the Great Throne.

Bismillahil-ladhi la yadurru ma'asmihi shay'un fil-ardi wa la fis-sama'i wa huwas-Sami'ul-'Alim.
In the name of Allah, with whose name nothing on earth or in the heaven can cause harm, and He is the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing.

رَضِيتُ بِاللَّهِ رَبًّا، وَبِالْإِسْلَامِ دِينًا، وَبِمُحَمَّدٍ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَبِيًّا
Raditu billahi Rabban, wa bil-Islami dinan, wa bi-Muhammadin sallallahu 'alayhi wa sallama Nabiyyan.
I am pleased with Allah as my Lord, with Islam as my religion, and with Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) as my Prophet.

يَا حَيُّ يَا قَيُّومُ بِرَحْمَتِكَ أَسْتَغِيثُ، أَصْلِحْ لِي شَأْنِي كُلَّهُ، وَلَا تَكِلْنِي إِلَى نَفْسِي طَرْفَةَ عَيْنٍ
Ya Hayyu ya Qayyumu bi-rahmatika astaghith, aslih li sha'ni kullah, wa la takilni ila nafsi tarfata 'ayn.
O Ever-Living, O Sustainer, by Your mercy I seek relief. Set right all my affairs, and do not leave me to myself for the blink of an eye.

أَصْبَحْنَا عَلَى فِطْرَةِ الْإِسْلَامِ، وَعَلَى كَلِمَةِ الْإِخْلَاصِ، وَعَلَى دِينِ نَبِيِّنَا مُحَمَّدٍ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، وَعَلَى مِلَّةِ أَبِينَا إِبْرَاهِيمَ حَنِيفًا مُسْلِمًا وَمَا كَانَ مِنَ الْمُشْرِكِينَ
Asbahna 'ala fitratil-Islam, wa 'ala kalimatil-ikhlas, wa 'ala dini Nabiyyina Muhammadin sallallahu 'alayhi wa sallam, wa 'ala millati abina Ibrahima hanifan musliman wa ma kana minal-mushrikin.
We have entered the morning upon the natural way of Islam, upon the word of sincere devotion, upon the religion of our Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), and upon the way of our father Ibrahim, who was upright, a Muslim, and not of those who associate partners with Allah.

Common questions
When should the morning azkar be recited?
After the Fajr prayer, and preferably before sunrise. The window is the early part of the day; if you wake late or miss sunrise, the azkar are still recited — the preferred time has passed, not the opportunity.
How long do the morning azkar take?
Around ten to fifteen minutes for the full set of 17, read at an unhurried pace. Several entries repeat three times and one repeats a hundred, and the repeat count is shown on each.
Are the morning and evening azkar the same?
Largely, yes. Most of the set is shared and differs only in a word — "we have entered upon the morning" against "we have entered upon the evening". A few entries belong to one time only.
